The National Observatory of Athens contributing to the energy transition of small islands of the Aegean Sea through the utilization of renewables of energy sources, plans the energy autonomy for the island of Antikythera (link). With the Geosciences Observatory as a springboard and the Climate Change PAGAIA which in its full operation is expected to triple the energy needs of the island, a number of were studied installation scenarios of photovoltaic and solar thermal solutions which are able to meet the needs of the entire island (link).
